I would have thought that optical disc formats would be on the decline right now with the costs of flash drives and SD cards going down in price...

...but I guess if the optical media remains cheaper than other options, then that would add a few more years to their lives...

I can just picture the warning signs on the box WARNING: STARING DIRECTLY INTO THE LASER MAY CAUSE BLINDNESS OR DEATH.

I the future, we use genetically augmented, cybernetic monkey brains to store petabytes of multiversal data via the Megasphere Omnipresence Portal (MOP).

They would probably come with an internal PS 120-220v 50-60 hz.
