Sony Vaio not booting/ startup repair not solving issues

I have a sony vaio laptop from 2011. Was trying to install an update and the computer shut down and never started back up again so I started it and now it won't boot. When I turn it on it goes straight to "loading windows files" and then goes to startup repair which can't find a solution. I've gone into the advanced solutions and system restore and everything won't work. Solution??

Hopefully your important files are safe in one of your backups so a factory restore shouldnt be too problematic.

Sounds like windows got messed up with an update. It happens. So you have tried doing a system restore? does it fail or does it complete but still won't boot?

It doesn't even recognize a place to do a system restore in the startup repair. I'm trying to find my windows 7 disc. I'm fine with losing all my stuff, I don't have anything important I just need this to boot up again lol.

yea try a factory restore. If that doesn't work then you could have a bad hard drive or some other bad hardware.

Thank you guys for your answers!! I solved the issue by going into the command prompt and rebuilding the boot configuration and its perfect again. Thanks!

I have the same issue with my Sony Computer, how was it fixed again, not very inclined with IT stuff...so going into the command prompt by pressing F8, then choose boot configuration?...I tried "last configuration" option too but didn't fix this. Thanks again yall
