Sony Vaio Vgn TX5XN/B HDD Problems

Hi,
I recently purchased a new 1.8" hdd for my sony vaio vgn tx5xn/b laptop howver nothing is being detected in the bios. I just wanted to ask whether anyone knows what the problem could be?

Have you plugged all cables from laptop motherboard? and does your HDD spin when you turn on your laptop?
There might be problem in that flexible cable which comes from your motherboard to your HDD.

I've checked all the cables, the DVD drive is also connected via that cable and that works and is detected, however the hdd is not. I think you may be right and it is the cable causing the problems, do you know where I can buy one from as I can't find it online anywhere.

Try to reconnect your HDD cable and if it doesn't work R.I.P. HDD cable and probably laptop 🙁
If it doesn't help send your laptop to service center for repair.
