I own a Sony Vaio PCV-RX550 which uses the Asus P4B-LX mobo which is currently dead. I am trying to find a new mobo that I can use my current components with but I'm lost. the P4B-LX uses pc133 sdram. Can pc133 be used in mobos that support DDR266 or better? Any suggestions on a new mobo or will I have to buy a new one with new components i.e. ram to support it?

Nope, you can't use SDRAM in today's DDR systems... As for a replacement board ECS used to make a board that used either SDRAM or DDR. It was the K7S5A and it used an SiS chipset. You might be able to still find one around.

Are you sure a standard ATX board will fit that Sony case?

What makes you say your board is bad?
