With Windows 98 I was able to sort the various columns in
tables in an alphabetical or numerical order. With Windows
XP home edition on my new computer I cannot find such a
possibility. Can you give me a hint what to do? Thanks

Need to know what application you are referring to.

If referring to Windows Explorer, right click anywhere within the pane that
you want to sort and select Arrange Icons by> to choose a sort order. If
you use View> Details, you can click the column headers (name, date, etc)
to sort according to that particular category.

If referring to sorting a table within an application, check that
application's help file for directions.
