I recently built my first desktop:
Here's the build again:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor (£268.67 @ More Computers)
CPU Cooler: Cryorig h7
Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£120.99 @ Ebuyer)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury White 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (£55.72 @ More Computers)
Storage: Hynix 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£45.98)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£41.76 @ Amazon UK)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 4GB Video Card (£161.99 @ Amazon UK)
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case (£69.98 @ Novatech)
HDMI and DVI ports from the Video Card are working well, except that the DVI has no sound when I plug it into my monitor (which I am not sure is normal (?)).
The USB ports from the motherboard are all working fine; however, the audio is not working when connected to a audio jack for headphones or speakers. In the playback menu it only shows my monitors speakers, which are working:
ASUS VC239-4
NVIDIA High Definition Audio
Default Device
'Disabled devices' are shown, and showing 'Disconnected devices' shows 3 NVIDIA HDMI Output ports that are disconnected.
The microphone is not working, and in 'recording devices' it states 'No audio devices are installed'.
In addition, all the video ports (HDMI, DVI and VGA) on the motherboard are not working. I am aware this is most likely due to my Video Card being the primary source and not the motherboard's integrated graphics.
I have tried many different things and have reinstalled the drivers several times; is there anything I am overlooking? I would like all audio to be working from the motherboard. I would also like the video ports from the motherboard to be working whilst keeping the GTX 960 still as the primary source for the computer's graphics. Are these possible?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thank you.
