Hi,

I recently got myself a pair of turtle beach x41 headphones, i would like to be able to play all my audio out to my headphones and my bose speakers.

So my headset is connected via optical cable, and my speakers via a normal 3.5mm lead.

Meaning i need a soundcard with a optical output and line output.

I've tried the virtual line out but there is too much lag output. I use win 8 which doesnt support dual output, hence why i am looking at a soundcard option.
At the minute i am just manually changing default outputs, which is a pain.

I dont mind it being internal pci or external usb

Thanks for the help

Phil

if you have $2000 handy you may find a soundcard that does it properly. If not don't bother trying. 20 Years 0n and Microsoft still cannot solve a simple sound problem of letting users choose what they want and how they want it. Bottom line is everything is based on gamers and little on music. If you are really serious about music get a MAC

If I'm understanding you right, you want a single application (or all applications) to output to BOTH devices at the same time, correct? If so, I don't know an easy way to do what you want. [Probably an external device to capture/output to multiple devices, but that will add lag].

If you want to output two different audio streams to two different devices, this CAN be done in Windows, on the provision that one of the applications in question allows you to manually select an audio output device [few do]. So you can have, for example, a Game output to the "Default Windows Audio Output Device", and configure WMP to output to a different device.
