Hi, I recently bought an Acer Nitro QHD 27-inch monitor. When I searched google about this monitor, it says there is a speaker inside the monitor, so there should be sound coming from the monitor, but I don't hear a single thing from it. I tried deleting and re-installing the driver, even changed my cable from HDMI to DP. I even went to sound settings and foundmy device and tested it if it makes sound and the system says that there is sound coming out, BUT I don't hear any. Please help me fix the issue.

EDIT: I checked that the volume is 100, I enabled audio coming out from the monitor, even tried changing the sound quality from different qualities (16bit, 32000Hz to 24bit, 48000Hz)

Access the display's menu and verify that the volume is not on zero.

You also need to verify that the Windows Sound settings have this source for playback.
Yup the volume is set to 100 on my monitor and I tried testing if I can hear sound by finding my monitor from playback device but when the system says the sound is coming I don't hear any.

Does the sound bar move (when viewing via Control Panel/Sound/Playback) for the display?

When did you last update your video drivers (also updates the audio component of the GPU)?

Also, what is the specific/full model number of your display?

yes the sound bar moves but I don’t hear any sound. I just built my pc so everything is updated. I think the model number is acer nitro XZ272U V. I will attach a link to the store I bought it in case you need it. https://www.canadacomputers.com/en/...440p-1ms-165hz-gaming-monitor-umhx2aav07.html

You probably need to alter a Windows setting. Background: there never has been any way to send the sound output from a mobo audio chip or from an added sound card to a graphics output card. So IF you have a graphics card to feed your monitor (NOT from an HDMI port on the mobo's rear panel) that graphics card actually has its own sound chip on it so it can send sound out of its HDMI port along with the video. Now, that means you have at least two possible Audio Output Devices - one on your mobo, and another on your video card. Maybe even a third. But no matter how many, Windows can only use ONE of them at a time, so YOU have to tell it which one. On the search window at bottom left type sound settings and click on the choice. The first part of the window lists all the possible sound output devices you have and one will be highlighted - probably the Realtek system on you rmobo. Look for a device named like your VIDEO card and choose that, then back out. Try something that makes sound now and see if it comes out of the monitor. You can go back to that Sound Settings window any time and change it.
