Sound doesnt work on youtube when games are open and vice versa

Basically whats happening is if I have a game open doesnt matter which one. Youtube videos will not play and if they do they wont have anysound and vice versa if im watching a youtube video and launch a game, the game wont have any sound I have no idea what this could be and couldnt find any thing on the internet so hoping someone can help.

Speakers for Youtube vs Earphones/microphone for gaming?

Check your Playback device settings.....

Little speaker icon - usually lower right screen corner.

Click and/or right click your playback devices to check the settings. Very easy to end up with some misconfiguration.....
