Hi,

In June of last year I built a Gaming PC whose specs you can find here:http://pcpartpicker.com/p/H2syjX. At the start of this year, I started having an issue where my games had no sound; while browsing with Chrome and watching videos on YouTube sound was fine. The problem was only happening with the games. Thinking it was a software issue, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and upgrade to Windows 10 from 8.1 with a clean install, which I did last Friday. The audio issue seemed to be fixed but today it started happening again. As a last resource, I was thinking of buying a sound card but I'm not sure if this will fix the issue, so I'd like to know your opinion.

So, should I buy the sound card or not (I already have one in mind just in case)?

If not then what should I do?

Thanks in advance for any help!

You checked the obvious things: audio output ingame settings, volume mixer and set the default format in realtek to 48000hz? Also try unplugging your mic or checking the communications tab in windows volume options it might be set to "mute all other sounds" set it to do nothing. That's all i can think of regarding software, good luck!

Assuming you're talking about the 24-bit 48000Hz (Studio Quality) then yes.
