sound not working after a bios reset

I had a problem with graphics originally, so I followed these instructions to reset the bios. http://puu.sh/cG3pi/b779323390.png

I didn't take the battery out, if that could effect anything. Now the graphics are working just fine, but no sound.

I downloaded realtek drivers, and I had nvidia audio drivers and the default hd sound drivers already, all up to date. I also tried all the audio jacks. Is there something wrong with the motherboard, do I need to update the bios, is the sound card messed up, or is this a a problem I can solve within the os?

Did you enable the integrated sound card from your BIOS? Did you setup your default sound device in windows?

IF all else fails and the audio chip is dead you can just buy a cheap Xonar DG and be done with it...

in the bios look under onboard devices. make sure the sound card is turned on. in windows sound settings make sure realtech sound speakers are set as the default output if it nvidia hdmi as the default output you wont get any sound.

Sound is enabled in bios, just checked. The only device that can be default, as seen in the screenshot is realtek, but no audio comes out when it is on other than a faint ringing noise.

EDIT: the ringing occurs even if the realtek is disabled, my bad.

It looks like you are using realtek sound... is this the on motherboard sound? do you have a add in sound card? why did you install NVidia audio driver?

I don't think realtek is the onboard sound, but the default speakers show as not connected. I have the default sound card for my mobo. Nvidia drivers came with my gpu, I think.

I enabled the only sound I could find besides hdmi audio. Is there something else besides integrate I should be seeing, or am I not seeing integrated at all?
