I have previously been running Windows 8.1 and my set up relating to this question is as follows; HyperX Cloud headset, Logitech Speakers with a mini sub, ASUS H97M-E motherboard. I have my speakers plugged into rear jack, and headset plugged into front jack. My problem is this. When I had Windows 8.1, I easily could switch between audio devices using the "Sound" application in Control Panel. And both my speakers and headset had separate audio in the Sounds control panel. However, With Window 10, I don't have this anymore, and both my headset and speakers are bundled into 1 input in the Sounds control panel (Labeled "Speakers") And by default audio will play through my headset until I unplug my headset. The only other audio device that shows up is the Realtek Digital Output and this make no sound what so ever.

Also to do with this issue (after many hours forum searching) I un-installed the Realtek HD audio manager, restarted the computer, and when I came back to Windows it was back to how I had it in windows 8.1! But less than 20 seconds later, that was all gone and windows was trying to install Realtek device drivers again =(

Please help! As I may just revert back to Windows 8.1 if I can't fix this!

Solution
You may prevent Windows from automatically installing device drivers by following these instructions.

Type "Advanced System Settings" in Start and select the first option that appears. Navigate to the "Hardware" tab. Select "Device Installation Settings." Select the "No, let me chooose what to do" radio button. Select "Never install driver software from Windows Update." Save changes and press "OK" in the previous dialog. Uninstall your audio drivers, and try your audio driver installation from Windows 8.1.
