There's one thing you could do. Go to Nvidia's Control Panel >3D Settings >Configure Surround, PhysX and pass on a screenshot of what you see on said window/pane. All available display output ports should show up in said pane.

should work, couldn´t find a data sheet where it is described, but usually gaming laptops should use the dedicated GPU.
Eventually the lid has to be shut while using it, but that´s just something I saw someone wrote.
