Sounds is faded in control panel

i have no sound....when i go to control panel sounds....its all faded i can not turn the volume up....i also have no speaker icon

reload your sound driver. go to my computer, manage and see if you have any yellow exclamation marks to double check the driver first. but sounds like your sound driver is not working properly.
