Source engine had the best physics I have ever seen. Excited to see what this looks like. Hope there will be another puzzle mod for this engine.

That will likely be an update to the Global Offensive edition.

So, after 6 years we finally return to something akin to Crysis-levels of visuals?Want to see something a bit more involved from Source 2 though, such as volumetric lighting and God Rays through clouds and denser foliage. Or am I just spoiled because after I cranked Crysis and Crysis 2 (DX 11, Hi-Res) to maximum nothing seemed to compare?

Fake, looks like a drawing/painting. No pixels whatsoever there, it's so obvious. =(
Take it easy on this guy. He's a Console junkie who has no idea what REAL gaming graphics can look like. Not his fault for being 'played'.

Yeah, I have no idea how in the world the Source engine is as good as it is, it blows me away.
It is really hard to develop on Source, at least it was then it came out. I remember trying various Source games developed not by Valve and they all looked horrendous! Source relies really really heavy on the textures, not on polygon count or extreme shaders. Hence very performance efficient, but looks as good as artist can draw 3D looking textures without having high poly models to stick them on. I stress this was then HL2 and HL2:EP1 came out.

Hmm, now that's interesting. I hadn't ever heard that before, but it explains a lot of the reason why the engine both works so well and is rare outside of Valve games.

I might be not 100% right, but I've tried some HL2 graphical mods which increase image quality using shaders and it lagged a lot, so I think it doesn't scale very well then using current technologies.
