In games with Source engine, (CS:GO, Insurgency, etc.) I get sound problems that make me want to throw my computer into the ocean, and then dive into the ocean and repair it and hook it back up.
All same but different, in CS:GO the sound just loops for a long time and it finally goes back after half round, in Insurgency the sound doesn't work at all, I hear nothing.
I checked, and nothing is muted or turned down a lot. Help?

Sometimes in Batman: Arkham City, the sound won't work
And in Origins the sound goes out after it shows the WB icon when I start it

My drivers are up-to-date.
Does DirectX 9 work for source engine games?

AMD Radeon Sapphire R9 280X, AMD FX-6300 Six-Core Processor, Black and White Gigabyte Motherboard, 8GB of DDR5 RAM, and Windows 8 OS.

You can try verifying the game caches for each game and make sure that you also update your audio drivers, not just your graphics drivers.

Can you give me a link to the latest AMD audio drivers?

Accidentally set as best answer, oops.
It says my drivers are up-to-date.
How do I verify the game caches?
Sorry for being so slow.

Go to your Steam Library --> Right click the game that is having sound problems e.g. CS:GO --> Go to "Properties" --> Go to the tab "Local Files" --> Click on "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" --> Follow as Steam requires

Yeah. TF2's sound still goes out after 4 rounds, and insurgency's sound doesn't work.

For Insurgency, try typing snd_rebuildaudiocache in the console.

For TF2, Disable the AMD High Def audio device, to do so, go to your device manager.

Okay, thanks. I'll try it out later.
