[citation][nom]NuclearShadow[/nom]I think it's sad that Samsung wouldn't just settle and do the right thing. They were responsible and I am sure their lawyers looked into the case enough and spoke with experts on the matter to realize it.If that happened under my business where I made some terrible error that caused a worker to become seriously ill I would have paid every penny needed to get them the best treatment in a effort to save their life. If they passed because of me, I would feel the guilt of it my entire life. This doesn't offset the risk when you are exposed heavily and often to cancer causing agents. While I would agree that people should eat healthy and things that do reduce risks of serious health problems. But again this would not be a solution to the issue and no human being should ever be exposed to such conditions period.[/citation]
You might not make it in such a business...you're too kind.

We really need to start treating fellow human beings like human beings. It disgusts me how fellow people are often treated as numbers, statistics, or cattle. This is worldwide cultural problem that I hope we, as a people, can address in the future.

We have failed for millennia, so I doubt things are going to become all peachy any time soon. People are greedy and will always be greedy. Those with the capacity to feed that greed will continue to rise to the top and continue to trample those who sweat to bring them more wealth.

[citation][nom]dns7950[/nom]Totally retarded. She used to work at Samsung, then got cancer, so Samsung is responsible?? I held an iPhone once, and now it hurts when i pee! I think Apple owes me some money....[/citation]

The truly sad thing about this article is some of the responses down here in the commentaries who think this case is a joke and there is no link to the carcinogens she breathed in and her death... Generally cases like this don't just end in a verdict because of some haphazard guessing by a few people...

I'd be willing to bet there were probably a few experts working on this, certainly experts more qualified than all the people in this forum to made an educated opinion on this case and the link of her employment at Samsung, the chemicals she was exposed to and her cancer.

Making comments like the one quoted above just make you look stupid and ignorant. Go troll some other website for a change...

are you trying to prove how dumb you can be ? holding a phoen is NOT equal to working at a plant that manufactures electronic parts. try watching a show about electronic manufacture sometime, there are countless toxic chemical's created while manufacturing just main boards for any thing from dexk tops , to cell phone main boards . in fact i saw a video of an asus factory once , and about half the time during the manufacture process , machines had to do0 that section of work , because of the use of extremely toxic chemicals being sprayed,, dipped or pressed only the main board before caps and such are soldered on by peopled.

[citation][nom]wildkitten[/nom]I reread the article several times and never saw the wards "large quantities". Why do people have to insinuate articles say things they never said. Also, one of the things the article, as well as the CBS/AP article it's based on, never touch on is what in her personal life may have led to this. Was she a smoker? Was she on medication that led to increased risk of cancer? There is a line in the article that seriously leads me to question the judgement of this agency...So does this mean doctors, nurses, firefighters, police officers will all now not have to work night shifts because of increased risk of breats cancer?[/citation]

1. deosnt have to be large doses , regular trace doses of some of those chemicals can cause cancer long term.

2. you don't get breast cancer from smoking .... god you listen to to many politican's and doctors , smoking only "may" cause lung cancer, throat cancer , mouth/jaw cancer, or heart disease. ROFLMAO , best laugh i had all week dude. also not every one that smokes gets any of these there were quite a few smokers that have died with no signs of the above listed issues. hence the term "it may cause" even the surgeon general's warning states it this way , some people are less prone to cancer than others , and vice versa.

If this was a factory that produced iPhones in China you would have said you knew it and started all the name calling, right?
