Can SP2 be installed on a PC that has GoBack installed? I am hoping this is
possible, because if there are problems afterward I can use GoBack to reset
everything. Thanks for any advice.

Why bother with GoBack win XP has its own System Restore?

Many users do so. Personally, I had some issues and I must note, this may
have been with a version prior to GoBack's current version. You might want
to check their recommendations. I prefer to use System Restore in
conjunction with a backup application and system imaging software. Be
aware, neither System Restore nor GoBack are backup applications and should
be used, in conjunction with, at the very least, regular backups of your
data.

System Restore only restores the system settings and the registry. GoBack
is far more robust, allowing the user a lot more flexibility. Of course,
this "advantage," can also be liability in that the user might lose
something in "going back" that was created after that GoBack restore point.
Nonetheless, GoBack users tend to find it quite useful.

While 'many users' may find it useful; I, for one, never heard of it till I
saw the posting.

It actually pre-dates the introduction of the System Restore feature which
was first implemented in Windows ME.

Answering my own question: According to Symantec, installing Service Pack 2
will not affect Norton GoBack. Thanks to everyone who replied. I personally
like GoBack because it can reset my drive(s) to a point in time before SP2
was installed.
