SP4 Info

Im interested in getting a copy of SP4 on CD from microsoft's website, but im a little scared. Im running a corporate edition of 2000 pro (no serial required since the company my dad works for bought a license), the problem is that I dont know how many people the license was for. Am I right in assuming that since they bought the license, this copy can be used by anyone? If not, is it safe to give ms my name and adress since it is likely they will know im using an edition that is not licensed to me? (I think the website checks what edition of windows you have, Sp4 is free in my case).

I don't think it checks anything, but I've downloaded it with wme with no problems... they can't check my w2k anyhow this way.

I'd stay with SP3, unless you need the stuff in SP4, and then I'd download them selectively, as many people I know started getting small, weird behaviors and problems that went away when it was removed.

it checks nothing, if you have a burner I'd reccomend slipstreaming the service pack into your install disk, this way each time you install windows 2k you install the service pack as well.

Thanks a lot both of you. I've decided to just do what papasmurf said, since I would rather not get 'involved' with MS. Ed, I've been using SP4 for a couple of months now with no problems whatsoever (I never have any probs with win2k, I love it) so I think im OK.

you mean the next install will be 2k w/sp4 automatically? how do you do that?

Itchy and Scratchy #1325,Itchy plays Scratchy's skeleton like a xylophone; strikes the same rib twice but clearly 2 different notes sound. are we to believe that this is some sort of magic xylophone?
