For the last week or so, my keyboard spacebar has suddenly gotten "stuck" sunken into the keyboard. It's resting much lower than it used to/should be on the keyboard.

When I take the spacebar out, nothing seems to be wrong with it. The metal bar under the spacebar slides, which i'm not sure if it's supposed to, so it could be the cause. Nothing else has broken off or anything like that. The spacebar is not stuck because I spilled something on it, though, (I haven't, for the record) but it's stuck for some mechanical reason.

When I hold the keyboard upside down and press the button, it presses just fine. Which is why I'm really confused - nothing seems to be wrong physically with the keyboard/spacebar, but there's no reason it should be "stuck" the way it is other than something being physically broken with it. Thankfully, it's just barely stuck so that it doesn't actively press down the spacebar sensor inside.

The model is KB-IBP-00A2. Any advice of what to do is greatly appreciated, because I'm at a loss and seriously frustrated because I'm not sure what else to try; there's not a noticeable defect, but it's not "sticky" either.

Hello... the "Space bar" will have two "metal bars" if one is loose? pull with even careful pressure... And release the Plastic button from the other one... then you can vacume the area and press the "Space Bar" back into the "metal bars"... and should work again for you. B /

It will depend on how the keyboard is made.

For most, under the space bar when you remove it the metal bar is used to balance the pressure applied to the bar if hit slightly off centre by your fingers,

What you should see bellow it is a rubber mat or a pot that presses down.
On the under side of it is a carbon spot or contact, when you press the key down it completes a a circuit like a momentary switch. and the keyboard then know what key you have pressed.

Any sort of liquid you spill that has a sugar content, or syrup will work its way to the underside of the rubber mat and to the circuit contacts.

What you have to do is unscrew all of the screws on the under side of the keyboard.
And clean around the circuit board and the space bar contact with any kind of alcohol cleaner.
and also use a Q stick to clean the rubber contact inside and around where it bounces back up or is domed.

That is why your space bar does not return back to the height it should when it is released from pressing it Gibstack.

My spacebar only has one metal bar, and I assure you that there isn't a "2nd metal bar".

I haven't spilled any liquid on it, as I stated. There's no reason to clean the keyboard.
