Hello all,

Just recently did an upgrade to an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A and Ryzen 7 5700X3D from an i9-9900k. My last motherboard was a ASUS Prime Z390-A. I had my soundbar connected to the motherboard via SPDIF and everything was working fine but once I did the upgrade my soundbar no longer appears in Windows 11. I factory reset the soundbar and installed RealTek and audio drivers for the new motherboard but still nothing. I'm not entirely sure what to do. I don't see SPDIF in the onboard settings in BIOS. I saw the red light coming through to the soundbar but I think it disappeared when I disabled HD Audio Control in the BIOS.

I looked online but didn't see anyone else have this problem. I also have Steel Series Sonar enabled from Steel Series GG for my Arctis Nova 7 if that has anything to do with it.

Related Specs:
Ryzen 7 5700X3D
ASUS ROG Strix B550-A
Soundbar: Samsung HW-Q70T

Did you do a fresh OS install when you swapped motherboards ?

Make sure the spdif port is enabled in the sound settings.
Then click on the speaker icon for the volume control on the desktop. and select the spdif port.
What settings would this be in? I don't see it on my onboard devices in BIOS and there isn't a direct way to set it in the Realtek Audio Console.

Right-click on the volume icon on the taskbar and select “Sound Settings” that is where you really configure your sound instead of using OEM bloatware.
It will be under the outputs tab.

If you need to turn on 5.1 mode you would right click on the spdif out icon area and turn it on. But I don't think Micropoop paid dolby for licensing so dolby digital might not work on that OS.
