[SOLVED] speaker and mic using single audio jack

Hi,

I have MSI tomahawk b350 paired with ryzen 1600 in Deepcool matrexx 55 case.

I am unable to use the speaker and mic of my headphone using a single jack. I am able to do this on my laptop.

They both work individually but not together i.e. I get audio out from speaker jack and mic with mic jack.

i have an ordinary pair of headphone.

this is the alternative. Why my front panel won't work? It's not implemented or i have a defective piece?

Try using another ordinary headphone to your PC? At least you'll know if your connection is faulty or invalid (not all 3.5mm connectors are same and thus don't support full functionality when plugged in to a wrong type)

Front panel uses same sound chip and if you don't have TRRS jack it can't work either.

So after a lot of googling and emailing. The thing is my version does not have combo jack.. newer version does.

Time to DIY a solution now.
