Hello everyone,
I have a kit 2.1 for PC which I replaced the original satellites, at beginning I used a RCA cable with adapter RCA-jack:

and everything worked well, now I tried to buy a cable jack rca:

and now I have a small "problem" I hear a buzzing noise coming from the speakers when nothing is playing ... how come it only happens with this cable?
thank you

Cables are "shielded" from induction..

Heh lets try a less technical explanation. Basically a wire acts as an antenna, if you have magnetic signals nearby the wire will pick it up and if you have an amplifier and speakers connected, signals will turn into noise.

Things like regular european wallsocket power, will be emitting a "signal" of 50 HZ and if you get sound or LAN cables close to such a cable you will get a humming noise or some signal problems as for the LAN.

To counter this phenomenon, cables are shielded by a conductive outer layer and various more or less voodoo like solutions. At any rate, the quality of cables and the route they go past other stuff is the source of the noise.

So either you pulled the new cable close to...

So either you pulled the new cable close to something or its just plain bad quality.
I set up some old logitech 2.1 speakers recently. having my cellphone within a metre of the table (let alone the actual speakers or cables) will translate into speaker noise.

Only way to get completely rid of this problem, is changing to optical cables.
But larger amplifier, will make the problem worse.
