So I recently upgraded my laptops HDD. I was getting a little low on space so I used a program called driveclone to clone my current ~900GB drive to a new 2TB Drive. Both drives are internal 2.5" 5400 RPM drives. The clone completed successfully and I popped the new drive in.
Everything looks like its working more or less but, I notice that I cant increase the volume. Strange
So I run troubleshooting on my audio and it tells me the speakers are not even plugged in. I opened up device manager and there is a yellow exclamation mark on my Audio Device. So I uninstalled it, and re-installed the audio driver that came with the laptop. Still no luck.
I am a little worried at this point so I swap the hard drives back, putting the original back in the laptop. Boots up normally, but still no audio. I plug in some headphones and they don't work either. Normally when I plug in headphones the laptop notifies me something has been plugged into the jack but nothing. I am able to connect to blue tooth speakers fine though.
I checked the bios settings thinking something might have been changed there but I reset all settings to default and still no audio. I really doubt I damaged the speakers when I was inside. I didn't touch them at all but I suppose it is possible, however unlikely. Should I call Lenovo support and send the laptop in? Or is there something I am not thinking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
FYI I have a Lenovo Y510p with windows 8.1
