Hi everyone i was just wondering what would be the best speakers to get for the new Creative X-FI sound cards i thought about it and decided that 6.1 and 7.1 systems arent as good as 5.1 YET! they need perfecting in my views, so question is which 5.1 speaker system would be SUPERB for music, movies, games even tv i thought bout the Logitech Z-5500D THX 5.1 speaker system has 500 watts of power lol but overall whats your take on it.

What might your budget be?

If you have cash, get a AV receiver and 5.1 home theater speakers. Your probably looking at $1000 for somthing decent.

On the PC side the Klipsch promedia 5.1 system is great ($350). I had one for a while before I started switching over to home theater.

Also, you can add speaker as needed to a 5.1 to make it 6.1 or 7.1
However, most movies and DVD-A are 5.1.

I realy love my Klipsch Promedia Ultras! Dont let the "No digital" crap fool you, they are leaps better than anything out there quality wise!

Real soon I will be getting a reciever and some new mains for my system 8)

Sparkstar,

There aren't many 6.1/7.1 sets sure. The Gigaworks is a good example of a high-quality 7.1 setup.

As for the Logitechs...if you can get a good deal on them, they're aren't half bad. But they aren't as good as the 5.1 Ultra, or the S700 (6.1) or S750 (7.1) Gigaworks.

If watts is important to you, then both the Ultra and Gigaworks have as much or more power than the Logitechs, and should sound a lot better.

If 6.1/7.1 setups need perfecting, I think Logitech needs some perfecting to do, lol.
