[SOLVED] Specific game completely refusing to use dedicated GPU

So I play Goat Simulator (32-bit) on my laptop, whose specs are as follows:
  • i7 8550u
  • Nvidia 940mx
  • 8GB RAM
  • Windows 10
  • SSD for boot up, games in an HDD
The game was performing quite badly (25FPS, Medium), so I checked in Task Manager to see what's up. Turns out the game wasn't using my Nvidia GPU at all, as the usage was at 0%.
To fix the issue, I have tried several things, but to no avail:
  • Made the game run on Nvidia GPU through Nvidia's control panel
  • Made the game run on Nvidia GPU through Windows Display settings
  • Turned on PhysX (didn't help so turned it back off)
  • Re-installed my Nvidia drivers
One important thing is that I face the 0% GPU usage issue only for this game specifically, all others seem to be using it to at least some extent (still not to full extent and giving low performance but that's another issue). So I am guessing maybe this is a problem with the game itself? But if it was, then why did it run buttery smooth on my friend's laptop with 7th gen i7 and Nvidia 920m (same gen and architecture as mine)?

I can't really figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
Where did you get Goat Simulator?

Perhaps the current installation is corrupted.

Uninstall/delete.

Manually download and reinstall via the applicable manufacturer's website.

Be very careful about configuring the game to your system and try again.

Post accordingly.

I think re-installing the game did the trick. It is now running on Nvidia GPU according to task manager as well as Nvidia. But now I have ran into another problem, which you can see on the other thread I started. Thanks for the help btw, really appreciate it!
