Question Specific HDMI cable works with laptop but not with Nintendo Switch ?

My HDMI cable works with my laptop, but not with my Nintendo Switch. I tried it with another HDMI cable and it works with the Switch. There must be something wrong with the cable, but why would it only be a problem for the Switch?

First time connecting switch to a high vertical frequency monitor ? Those require better cables but in this case it maybe the graphics on your Switch not able to provide.
