I used to be a great SC-fan, but I will NOT, I repeat, I will NOT play any game that requires a constant internet-connection. I hate piracy, but I also hate this kind of anti-piracy methods. No way, Jose. Ubisoft, you lost me as a customer. (BTW, I have a Phenom II 955, 4GB, Win7 64bit and a HD5750, so these requirements are not the issue.)

Do it like Steam. My god, it's NOT that difficult.

I refuse to purchase AC2 and now this because of the DRM measures they are using. If it DIDN'T require constant internet connection (and I understand they've made it so it checks for so long before actually shutting down and apparently saving where you were at), if your ISP decides to go down for a few hours or Heaven forbid, a day or more, what the heck are you supposed to do?

At least with Steam, as long as the game is up-to-date and doesn't require online play to play, you can play your games in offline mode. I really wish Valve would tell Ubisoft "no" to this and not distribute the game via Steam, considering Steam already performs it's own DRM, at least in a non-intrusive manner.

DRM or not, Ubisoft has trashed the Tom Clancy brand for the last few years. This alone should make people wait till it hits the bargain bin or a killer Steam sale.

My old pc would have just bearly met the reccomended specs.
Infact, I had an Athlon 64 X2 2.4 GHz

Now I'm running a Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Overclocked to 3.6Ghz and I'm certain that I won't be worried about system requirements for a few years. Although I do need a video card... anyone have a HD 4870 or HD 4890 they want to sell?

I was barley able to tolerate the DRM in Bioshock 2 just because I really, really, really wanted to play it. If I hadn't liked the original Bioshock so much I would have waited till they finally removed the restrictions, as I did for the first Bioshock, but I broke down and got it.

I won't be buying Conviction. I was thinking of buying it, but not enough that I would put up with annoying DRM. I wouldn't put up with Ubisoft's DRM for any game. You just lost yourself another sale Ubisoft. Good job.

Just another silly console port.... and nasty DRM to go along with it. My machine is three years old and still exceeds these specs but I won't be buying/playing this as I do not game while connected to the internet. I break my connection before I start gaming.

It's fully understandable that publishers will take steps to ensure their software does not get pirated, but a business should never allow those steps to have a negative affect on their customers.

On a personal note, I was looking forward to this release but I've chosen to not show any support of this DRM measure.
It would be a strong message if the anticipation of the game is high, the sales are low and it is not pirated. Unfortunately that is highly unlikely.

Compared to most console games, this pushes the SR envelope a bit. Most console ports are 'P4 2.8 GHz, GeForce 6600' or similar, and then there's games like this and Dragon Age that are beginning to make my 5 year old upper-mainstream rig sweat to even hit minimum specs. Took them long enough.

So it looks like I won't be buying this game but if I do decide to buy it it won't be for the PC. Not a chance I'm buying any PC game with that kind of DRM. I'm not going to lose my ability to play a game or get kicked off in the middle of a level because my ISP blows. Thanks but no thanks Ubisoft.

Piracy has not become some giant problem in the last 10 years, it's always been around. DRM is nothing new either. I remember playing Pirates! on my friends Commodore 128 and having too look up dates and page numbers in the games 200 page manual every time we wanted to play. This whole new trend of serials that get bound to only one account and internet connection requirements is just extreme. It also serves to kill the second hand market for PC games just as much as it does piracy. It's been mentioned here before that many independent developers and publishers like Stardock, use absolutely no DRM and are still successful.

Is that picture a prerendered frame of some screenshot or gameplay footage? I hope the latter, but that'd be unrealistic I suppose.
As for the requirements - I meet all of them, except my unwillingness to buy anything with ubisoft's drm ; waiting for razor to solve that for me though.

I love my pc and Console GFX irretate me,But Im going to get this game on xbox just like I did AC2.This isnt stopping piracy its just making life more difficult for ppl who own the game legally..I agree,Get some tips from Valve!!

they can get lost. permanent internet connection to play a game i paid for!! DRM is going to far.. Its why i didnt buy silent Hunter 5, although I have all the earlier in series and sub games before...
