when you purposely make your product harder or more frustrating to use then it is bad for business

logical thinking makes you not purposely hinder the functionality or usability of a program, most honest developers spend lots of time making their product as user friendly and easy to use as possible, adding drm will just make the product annoying especially when it is of no benefit to the user and the product can function better with out it

given the choice, everyone will pick whats easier to use and less frustrating

if ford came out with a new car that looks cool and has many new features but they bashed in the hood and windshield of every cat that they made, would you buy the car?

thats basically what drm does

DRM is cruelty to animals. You heard it here first.
Also, cats now have hoods and windshields and are manufactured by Ford. ;-)

I this still going on?

The simple fact is that piracy needs to be combated against, but it should not be at the expense of usability. The industry is wrong on this one and needs to come up with a better idea.

no drm is spelling errors :)

but no one wants a car with a bashed in windshield and a dented up hood

why because it is damage that doesn't need to be there and was done on purpose

thats what drm does

but DRM can be seed an cruelty to animals

every additional second you waste dealing with the drm to get the game to run, is time wasted that could be spend with a cute dog or cat

so while your wasting time with DRM, your dog or cat will be getting lonely and sad

lol, purplerat is having a chuckle at posters who don't spell correctly.

If anyone cares, there is a nice app that you can use to quickly check your spelling of your posts before posting called iespell.

iespell v2.5.1 is available for free.

I'm just continuing the joke and it's really not about spelling. I have my fair share of spelling mistakes and I think it's rather asinine to nit pick spelling on a forum like this. But the real joke is how Razor lovers to go from one ridiculous analogy to another. Maybe you haven't read his post enough but spelling aside it's completely normal for him to bounce from cars to cats to plants all in one post regarding DRM. :)

The greatest analogy is facking for virginity.

I think that describes quite well this matter. The problem is both parties are doing it.

riiigghhhtttt ... and im sure that none of you have ever taken something that wasnt yours. Are games supposed to be 60$ a pop and release probably ten a month on a variety of different platforms and then smash you with advertisements making you think the games are the best thing since (insert cliche here) and when you spend your dough on it the game sucks? SPORE WAS THE WORST GAME I HAD EVER PLAYED and it was so hyped up; I think I got robbed. All those overpriced mags sont tell you how bad a game is. So if you ask me. either make all titles come out at like 20$ each or im pirating my sh*t from now on because the industry is just as big a thief as all you "think" these piraters arrrggg ....
