the bad testing was intentional (look at the way the phones were held for the drop test.

anyway smartphones are way too weak these days. I remember my old motorola phone (non smart phone) falling out of my pocket while biking and taking a hard hit and rolling, and other than a few small scratches, it was perfectly fine. (I still use the same phone today when doing any activity where things are likely to fall. It has been dropped countless times (mainly because I don't really care if it falls since I know it wont break.

and for even more strength, I keep a old nokia phone in the car glove box (no sim card) so if there is ever a emergency such as a crash, I will have a good chance at still being able to make a call to an emergency number. A friend of mine does this also and when his keep went off of the road and rolled a few times, his smartphone was dead but his old bar phone still worked and he used that to call for help.

(no one has a reason not to have a old phone if they drive. if you don't have one, just buy one, they are dirt cheap and extremely hard to break and can really save you if you are in a more rural area)

[citation][nom]ohim[/nom]Seriously ? they they drop the S3 face on the ground and the iphone on it`s side ...[/citation]

they didnt drop it on its side they dropped it the same way it just ended up on its side anyways gravity differant phone shape

Well given the way phones are just designed now, of course they are weaker due to the screen.

But I think it's absolutely a no brainer and necessity to buy a case. Yes it makes it slightly bulkier than it was originally intended, but if people want to protect their $200-$600 investments then it's worth it IMO.

top comment on youtube, i dont want to retype the same thing...

First I wanna say that I have an iPhone and I am one of those so-called Apple fanboys..
But this test is not fair.
As people have mentioned the Samsung landed face-down in the drop-test.. The iPhone landed on an aluminium side. For this test to be legit, they both have to land face-down or on the side.
The water-drop test seems legit.
And the drop-stuff-on-the-phone test.. as people say, the edge of the bottle lands on the Samsung screen. On the iPhone, the whole bottle lands on the phone.

FAIL TEST. Test variables are not the same on both phones. I remember learning the "scientific method" as early as 3rd grade. Did these guys even go to elementary school at all?

[citation][nom]Antimatter79[/nom]Ok, if the tests weren't even done fairly, what was the point of even posting the article?[/citation]

To point it out..

Maybe they are trying to make the iPhone look good, but it's really just crap ...

Obviously this test is for the apple fanboys to watch so they can claim how great the new iphone is. Oh look, they are giving away ipad too.
Not a very fair test.

[citation][nom]Dangi[/nom]Really ?? How can Tom's post this blatantly viased test[/citation]

Because some editors on this site are more "fanbois" than professionals. Its easy to see who are neutral and who is not.

Some of the articles as of late seems to be built on any garbage 'news' that causes a flood of comments (ie views) because of their inaccuracy. Is it so hard to make real articles with substance in them?

My hint to the viewers - Ignore the obvious garbage ones and perhaps the once great site starts to write worthwhile articles instead!

So biased, hes holding the GS3 slightly angled and the iPhone 5 straight up and down. SquareTrade has instantly lost its credibility with me.

I love seeing all the Apple haters coming out whenever Apple is mentioned.

If the tests were biased towards Samsung, this comment section would be empty. Haha
