[citation][nom]Razor512[/nom]the bad testing was intentional (look at the way the phones were held for the drop test.anyway smartphones are way too weak these days. I rember my old motorola phone (non smart phone) falling out of my pocket while biking and taking a hard hit and rolling, and other than a few small stratches, it was perfectly fine. (I still use the same phone today when doing any activity where things are likely to fall. It has been dropped countless times (mainly because I don't really care if it falls since I know it wont break.and for even more strength, I keep a pld nokia phone in thre car glove box (no sim card) so if there is ever a emergency such as a crash, I will have a good chance at still being able to make a call to an emergency number. A friend of mine does this also and when his keep went off of the road and rolled a few times, his smartphone was dead but his old bar phone still worked and he used that to call for help.(no one has a reason not to have a old phone if they drive. if you don't have one, just buy one, they are dirt cheap and extremely hard to break and can really save you if you are in a more rural area)[/citation]
Well given the way phones are just designed now, of course they are weaker due to the screen.
But I think it's absolutely a no brainer and necessity to buy a case. Yes it makes it slightly bulkier than it was originally intended, but if people want to protect their $200-$600 investments then it's worth it IMO.
