Hi, I was playing a game called war thunder when my computer black screened. As it went to restart it’s self it hit me with a blue screen that had a Srt trail error.
Since then I tried following a YouTube video that didn’t work for me. :

As of right now I’m kinda just stuck on infinite black screen / getting to a blue screen sometimes.
What can I do?
Specs :

2070 super
I5-12600k
M.2(C drive) , ssd, hard drive
Gigabyte z690 ddr4 mobo

Fastest most successful way I found of fixing that error is a clean install. In your case, it appears only way.

On another computer, Download the media creation tool (2nd link) or ISO (3rd link) and use it to make a win 11 Installer on USB - https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows11

So that you don't lose anything important
boot from installer
  • on screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install.
  • choose troubleshoot
  • choose advanced
  • choose command prompt
  • type notepad and press enter
  • in notepad, select file>open
  • Use file explorer to copy any files you need to save to USB or another ssd/hdd

Once you copied everything off the boot drive you have to keep, dettach all the drives from PC except for C as otherwise windows might put partitions on any blank space it finds on them.

follow this - https://www.elevenforum.com/t/clean-install-windows-11.99/

plug drives back in once you know windows boots up fine again after install.

Hi, Thank you for the help.

HI, When i went to start my PC up to begin this process, I noticed the VGA light on the motherboard was lit. I then plugged my monitor into the integrated graphics on the mobo and it booted up perfectly.

Did I just blow my GPU?

Its possible GPU died here -
I was playing a game called war thunder when my computer black screened.

I don't get why you get that error , srttrail is a boot error. what does it have to do with GPU. Could be the crash corrupted the boot files, but if its working now, bonus. I have seen it once before - https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/gpu-causing-srttrail-txt.3564796/

So it looks like you need a new GPU. You could try GPU in another PC to be sure.
I have a 2070 Super... they are not meant to die, last forever :)

Just went out and bought a 3060 ti FTW3 Ultra. Put it in and booted right up. very odd but glad it works. This 2070 super I had was a handy down of a handy down. Not sure if that would do anything.
