SSD acting strange

Hey guys! So as you can see by my previous posts, I was having issues with my PC, mainly my SSD. All due to me doing things incorrectly. After time and patience everything is good. Except now I noticed my SSD showing some odd behaviour. Earlier I booted my PC and it took about 10 seconds from me pressing the power button and being able to log in; perfect! Showed the welcome screen for about 1 second and then straight to my desktop as it should, but the programs I chose to boot up from start: Razer synapse, Origin, EVGA Precision etc. took longer to start than they should with an SSD, usually the full PC and programs are fully booted in 20 seconds from power being turned on. So I double checked my BIOS and everything is the way it should be. Booted up, this time it showed the Windows "Welcome" screen for about 20 seconds, then when I got to my desktop, all my programs, Razer etc. booted up really quickly. So, either my PC boots and loads the desktop really quickly, but my programs take some time to load. Or, it takes a while to load the welcome screen, but the programs boot up fast. Any ideas? Please and thank you.

Solution
Well, if you have no luck with either of my previous suggestions (including the one with the SATA cables). You could still try updating or resetting your BIOS/UEFI, to see if that changes anything. Backing up your important data and erasing the SSD for a clean and fresh OS installation is another option, but this is a suggestion I tend to mention last, as I know that setting up everything from scratch could be a really tedious process.

If nothing helps, you could get in touch with the SSD manufacturer's customer support, to see if the guys there can help. Please keep me updated.
Hey there, No_Scoped_Jesus.

Unfortunately I can't see your previous post through your profile, however you could start with the basic troubleshooting. Check if the drive is connected properly. Check for firmware updates available for that drive model. Try the SSD with a different SATA port and different cables. Download an SSD diagnostic tool and test it for errors, just to be on the safe side.

It wouldn't hurt to backup any important data which you might have on the SSD, just as a precaution.

Hope that helps.

Hey thanks for the reply. So the drive is connected properly. Firmware is up to date, I have also tested it and all is good. AS SSD showed excellent results; https://gyazo.com/2fc1c240a25cdbe34ff8b173903fc2ad
When I booted up my PC this morning, everything was perfectly normal. OS and all start up programs booted up rapidly as they should! I don't want to restart in case it goes back to being slow again lol.
Thanks

Good job on the troubleshooting you've done so far. Did you have the chance to try the SSD with different SATA cables and a different port, to see if the issue still persists? Have you done any program or OS updates prior to the occurrence of the problem?

You could take a look at the suggestions on how to optimize your SSD's life expectancy and performance from this article: https://www.maketecheasier.com/12-things-you-must-do-when-running-a-solid-state-drive-in-windows-7/

Thanks fro the reply! So far I haven't been able to test with a different SATA cable as I haven't had time to go get a new one. I have tried with port 0 and port 1 and same results.

Solution

I reset my BIOS a few days ago with no luck. I haven't yet updated my BIOS as it sounds risky. But on my motherboard website, I have version F5, and there is now F6, F7, F8 and F9b (beta). https://gyazo.com/ddf162d9cc0f396bcbf512709125b3ef

I done a clean install a couple of weeks ago and that's when the problem started. I will try get in touch with Samsung.

Thanks again, Boogieman_WD!
