Yes. But so many other factors, impact performance that a SATA SSD has the same real world performance in most situations as an NVMe drive.
The orders of magnitude improvement happens when spinning disks are replaced by SSD. After that, the gains are very small.

RAM continue to evolve too, one day it will be as fast as the CPU cache itself.
