So I've just finished my new build and was eager to get it running but I've run into a bit of a problem and Im completely stumped. Neither my my sandisk x400 m.2 ssd or my toshiba p300 hdd are showing up in the bios or the OS install, in all honesty I was half expecting some work getting the m.2 working but with both remaining invisible to everything I've tried I'm completely lost.

I've already mention the ssd and hdd I'm using and I'm plugging them into an asus Z170 pro. I'm currently trying to install Linux (deepin) from a stick but that's only because I'm too impatient to wait for my win10 code from work.

I'm pretty prone to stupid oversights so I'm hoping that's all it is but I'd really appreciate some help with this, thanks in advance!

UPDATE: so after trying just about everything in the bios I could find people had recommended on the internet in the past to no success I just tried experimenting and managed to get the m.2 ssd showing and I'm downloading the OS to it now. Not sure I could repeat it but hopefully I'll never have to.

Now I just need to figure out the HDD situation. I knew that the m.2 would disable some sata ports but I figured it wouldn't disable all of them right? So which sata port do I plug the HDD into?
