SSD and HDD

Is it possible to have an SSD and HDD at same time? And what are the advantages of this?
Can u install the OS on the SSD and then use the HDD as storage or how does this exactly work.

Very interested in learning more about this. So far always used HDD's but ive read SSD boots WAY faster so

Yes you can have them both.

Yes,why not? Be sure to have SATA Cables for it.SSDs improve time of opening the pc,you can use your SSD as C: drive and install windows and programs in it.

Yes. That is a very common, and recommended, configuration.

Right now I have Windows 8.1 on the HDD , so if I wanna make the SSD being booted i should format the HDD and do a clean install on SSD right?

There are two ways to do this, clone or clean install.

1. Clone - Havew to take a few things into account first
Current used space on the HDD
Size of the new SSD
If it is more than ~80%, don't bother

2. Clean install - This is the best way forward. Far less chance of fail.
Install the OS with only the SSD connected.
