Hello, I am asking for help on my friend's behalf, as he is experiencing a lot of issues with his drive that neither one of us can figure out. Here is a summary of everything we know:

It all happened after a Steam update recently, within the last week as of writing this. Halfway through the update it just stopped and the PC crashed. Issues started showing up after that.
He has two drives, an SSD (one causing issues), and an HDD.

-In task manager, it shows 100% usage on the SSD despite nothing adding up to 100%.
-Does not show storage space is available with file explorer; when tried to be accessed it causes file explorer to crash.
-HDD is working just fine, as well as memory and cpu.
-He cannot download anything, even if the location is to the HDD.
-He cannot read any disk in the resource manager
-He has tried switching wires, checking connections on both ends, but has not tried plugging the drive into another computer.
-Have tried checking antivirus settings, other "windows settings" (his words).

To his knowledge, the ssd was not full before he tried installing the steam update, and he had no issues in any way before any of this. He only used the SSD to store steam games; no windows processes or files of any kind.
If anyone can help in any way it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

He is booting off the hdd?
If so unplug the ssd.
Does everything go back to normal?.......sfc/dism/chkdsk.
If all ok connect the ssd via usb and see if you can access it.
