I am planning to buy a new SSD for my OS and Frequently use programs and games.
I am looking at a 512gb SSD and a 256 gb SSD, I have read that it is not good to partition an SSD.
Should I buy a 256gb m.2 ssd for my OS and buy another SSD(cheap 2.5" one) for my programs and games or 512gb one and put all my os, programs and games there?

Solution

A 1TB SATA SSD will do the job in my opinion.
There isnt really a big difference between a good SATA III SSD and a NVMe m.2 in basic tasks.
I had something like this in mind:
860 EVO
