Hello There

I have a simple question that crossed my mind.
I have the ASRock X370 PRO 4 Motherboard and I want to add an m.2 SSD . I have found some very good ones like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus.
I checked the compatibility list and its not there. Actually the list is kinda small like some other manufacturers.

So my question is, If I buy this SSD will it be compatible and run perfectly fine?
Thank you very much.

Well there are some caveats:

- 1 x Ultra M.2 Socket (M2_1), supports M Key type 2242/2260/2280 M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s) (with Matisse, Picasso, Summit Ridge, Raven Ridge and Pinnacle Ridge) or Gen3 x2 (16 Gb/s) (with A-Series APU, and Athlon series APU)**
- 1 x M.2 Socket (M2_2), supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280/22110 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module

Your Ultra M.2 slot can take an NVMe drive like the 970 Evo Plus (If you have an APU or one of the older CPUs it may run at x2 speeds instead of x4 speeds that the mainline processors can support)
Your other M.2 slot is configured B+M which means you can also plug a SATA M.2 drive into it. But it shares bandwidth with your motherboard SATA ports when in use. An NVMe drive will also work here.
