SSD died after swapping GPU, any ideas as to why?

The ssd is a sandisk "Ultra Plus". I swapped out my 2x 280x for an evga 1070, after i booted up my computer i noticed that one of my ssd's disappeared (the other ssd and hard drives were fine). I checked to make sure that it was dead by swapping a good ssd in its slot.


Any clue as to how i managed to kill off the ssd during the swap so i could avoid it in the future? Shame, I was excited to try out the new GPU, but it just so happens that the ssd with all the games died.

that is unusual unless the ssd was already on its way out...and just needed a nudge to breathe its last...
have u checked that ssd in another slot in the same pc/different machine, to verify???

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I've also tried it in other sata slots, and still nothing. Damn thing died 2 months after the warranty period too.


I'm not sure if it's relavent, but for what it's worth, i happened to boot up disk sentinel the day before to check up on my other drives but everything seemed fine.

did u check whether it is reflecting in bios???
