I thought this was on streams end, however im seeing it on all downloads.

I have a 200 Mbps download connection, yet im only managing around 1.5-2 MB/sec, when I use to hit around 20-25 MB/sec.

Steam is showing my SSD is to slow, and capping my download speed.

What causes an SSD to move this f slow??

To start, visit your disc drive settings and ensure that Write Cache and AHCI area unit enabled. If you're running a Windows pc (or the latest mac OS X), check to see if TRIM is enabled — this could make your garbage collection additional efficient and maintain SSD speeds over time. you'll visit the Samsung list for more info on these settings. this can be also a good time to run the latest version of Magician, which will help optimize performance and correct settings even if you don’t have the 840 bug.

A word about SATA compatibility as well: SATA III is required for proper Samsung SSD performance, and if you've got a SATA II mainboard then you'll expect a lot of slower speeds. Basically, if your laptop is recent or has associate...

Sequential:

Random:

Speedtesting shows anywhere between 180-230 Mbps download/15-20 upload

however, anydownload I do, from any location, is limited anywhere between 1.5 MB to 3 MB. Steam download overlay shows the downloads being capped because of the Disk.

This computer is the only connected Device, wired connection and there is no caps anywhere via the router/modem

Basically, if your laptop is recent or has associate older motherboard, practicality can go down. Keep this in mind once choosing an external SSD or when upgrading your drive to SSD – a point comes once upgrading the motherboard is also necessary for real improvements.
