I have a Toshiba Tecra Z50 (PT545A-01W002) laptop that I would like to replace the installed HDD with a 500GB SSD drive. The system is running a 64-bit version of Windows 7 Professional.
I tried installing a 500GB Crucial MX500 SSD drive, which although it cloned without any issues, when attempting to boot into Windows resulted in a BSOD after getting the Windows welcome screen.
Made sure I had the latest BIOS update installed and checked all the settings but no luck and ended up returning the drive & getting a refund.
Just wondering if someone has attempted this sort of upgrade and can recommend a SSD drive to install.
