Hi all, many thanks for taking the time to read my thread!
I'm having bit of trouble with my Seagate SSD. I bought a new Dell gaming desktop and installed the SSD separately which I already owned. After a while, I noticed that sometimes when starting the computer, Windows will hang on starting up and fail to boot. Other times, the screen will remain black and nothing will happen. Other times, it'll boot into Windows as normal. My first thought was to test the SSD since that has the boot partition on it, and using a majority of diagnostic tools I received errors in the short self test. I finally tried Seagate's own diagnostic tool which returned no errors and stated the drive was healthy.
I'm at a bit of a loss on what to do, since I don't want to run out and buy another SSD if this one is actually fine. I'm more inclined to think the drive is failing due to the previous startup issues mentioned, but also, more recently I've started to receive BSODs which error messages relate directly to the SSD, but more specifically the device drivers. The SSD drivers are fully updated, as is my PC BIOs. I am beginning to wonder if I somehow set the drive up wrong physically inside the case, such as connecting cables incorrectly or having the wrong boot order. Is this something that could potentially be causing these issues?
Sorry for the lengthy post, but I thought I'd turn to the experts here before going out and dropping the cash for a brand new SSD. If you need any more information, I'm glad to help as I can!
