SSD first install. need help

I have just installed my 240GB SSD into my computer and want to use it solely for installing steam on. When I go into the bios it shows up as enabled and working properly but doesn't show up under My Computer when I want to install my steam into it. Why isn't it showing up

Assign it a letter.

Start > Right click on My Computer > Manage > Disk Management > Right click on your SSD > Assign Drive Letter & Path
