Lol, windows backup features take about 1GB a point and while updating to the latest i guarentee you atleast 7 points will be made, the least being the 1GB point. And windows hibernation takes 6GB

thats no less than 33GB.. not including the updates

Lets assume you do not do updates and have disabled hibernation. still many problems use the C;\User\User\Appdata folder , mine uses 4.02 GB atm

All in all DO NOT GO FOR LESS THAN 60GB

that's the reason. ive got my normal programs etc and a couple games and im using 128gb, thats why i recommend a minimum of 128

there only £150 or so for a 256gb ssd so why pay for less

you say that but you wont be able to install a lot of programs onto the hdd.

if you want to fight for space constantly then be my guest.

remember windows doesn't delete temporary files from programs you install etc, there will be orphaned files that will use up a lot of space eventually.

The point of having the SSD is for speed. Windows on it is, but if ALL your other programs are on the hdd it won't feel much faster. On my build I have windows, my AV, firefox, VLC/GOM, etc. Last I used it, some programs like Openoffice will want to install some parts on the OS partition/drive. Another thing to consider is 32GB drives aren't very fast. You don't normally see the top speed until you get to the 128/256GB drives. The more memory chips, the faster the speed.

Best answer has been picked, and you've heard the advice so I'm closing now. I hope you're happy with your pick.
