Question SSD Hard drive

Hi I want to buy an SSD hard drive. No problem. I want to buy the internal plastic carriage for a 5 inch bay. MASSIVE problem. What is it called? tried amazon. Can see the SSD but can't get the plastic mounting bay

Presumably you mean a 3.5" bay adapter for a 2.5" SSD?
What case do you have? Most cases have 2.5" adapters already in place.


Just to clarify (sorry to be pedantic) but it's either:

• Solid State Drive (SSD)
• Hard Disk Drive (HDD)

There is no SSD Hard Drive - just wanted to clarify.

If you're looking for a tray to mount a regular 3.5in drive then just search for "SSD tray" on NewEgg.

If you're referring to an "M.2 SSD" that installs directly on the motherboard then search for that...you'll have to decide on either the slower SATA3 ssd or the much faster NVME ssd for the m.2 slot.

What type of drive?

Most cases sold in the last few years have dedicated mounts for 2.5" drives.
