Just got a SATA M.2 SSD MX500 Crucial.

My mobo has two slots. One is Ultra M.2 which according to the manual supports M.2 PCI Express Module up to Gen3 x4 (32gb/s) and a regular M.2 which supports M.2 SATA3 6.0gb/s module and M.2 PCI Express modula up to Gen3 x2 16gb/s.

I assume I install it in the second, the regular m.2 right? The first one must be for NVMe?

The MX500, being a SATA based drive, leaves you with only one m.2 port option.
