Hello, I just noticed in CrystalDiskInfo that my SSD is being written a lot and all I was doing was watching Twitch.
This morning it was at 1516 GB then after windows update it went up to 1520 GB.
After that I only watched Twitch for the rest of the day and it went up to 1524 GB...
I have no page file, indexing is off, I scanned pc and its all clean.

I have no idea what's going on. I wonder if there's a software where you can see logs of what's being written on disk and such.

I am at a loss..

Is there anything else I'm missing that something is using my SSD so intensively? caches etc

Solution
I thought watching videos doesn't write at all hmmm may that be it??? I have been watching for hours.
876 GB free of 953 GB , its fairly new. bought it around 2 months ago, has 972 hours on it. I have the sabrent rocket pci-e 3.0 1tb

Also should I put the pagefile on SSD or on HDD ?
Yes, watching vids writes to the drive.
It doesn't go directly from Twitch to the monitor...lol

That is absolutely it.

Put the pagefile on the SSD. Assuming you have sufficient actual RAM, that is used very little.

  1. Keeping tabs day by day is useless.
  2. Watching videos is actually a lot of writing
  3. You need a pagefile of some sort, even if just a small 1GB min/max.
  4. A windows update will have written what it does.

What size/make/model is this drive?
How full is it?
How old is it?

I have 16gbs of RAM... I suppose it makes sense after all
