Hello,

I have currently a laptop but i'm planning to build a PC. I have a question though, can i use the same SSD (256 gb) from my laptop and use that in the PC? Would it work without any reset so i dont need to install windows, or do i need to reset it (dont know how to reset it) and install windows again.

Solution
Yes, pretty much that's how it's going to work. However, keep in mind that this would require your SSD to be formatted, so make sure you have a backup of your most important data somewhere else otherwise you'd lose it once you begin the new Windows installation on your new PC build.

Hope I was able to help you out! Keep me posted if you have more questions! :)

Hey there, Diegoooooo!

Yes, you can use your SSD as a storage device without any issues once you've built your new rig! However, you'd need a new genuine Windows Installation altogether, not just a reset/re-install. The OS communicates with the motherboard whereas the SSD/HDD is just a carrier of the system files. Changing the computer means that your old Window installation won't work on it.
So basically you'd have to pick a new Windows OS installation when shopping for PC parts as well.

Hope I was helpful. Good luck with your rig! :)
