Hello all,

I built my computer back in 2016 and the SSD and HDD have not been upgraded/replaced since. Recently my computer has been running very slow, it being the worst at startup. In task manager my SSD runs near or at 100% when trying to do anything. The disk is not full (I use it only for Windows and some programs; file storage goes on the HDD); and there are not any programs running in the background I can see either. Given that it is 8yo I am assuming I probably just need to buy a new one? I included my SSD benchmark results (which I do not know how to interpret) and task manager. Let me know what you think, thanks!

That's abnormally slow write, possibly malware. Did you check drive's health ? In case nothing is wrong with it:

Use Resource Monitor to find out, what is causing disk usage.
Open Resource Monitor,
switch to Disk tab.
locate Disk Activity section (not Processes with Disk Activity section),
order section by column Total,
make sure column File is fully readable and
show screenshot.
(upload to imgur.com and post link)

This will tell you, what process is causing disk activity and what file is being operated on.

Okay this is what mine was showing at 100%.

I will say most of the time System is the highest on the list, but occasionally TiWorker.exe, or MsMpEng.exe would be at the top instead.
