I went to use my computer and it was not sending any video signal to the monitor. I restarted the computer. I got this error message about checking a cable.
In the bios it says Sata information: no device found.

I don't see any hard drive anywhere. Is this because its connected Via M.2 ?

I have no clue what to do now. It just wont boot up into windows.

It was working fine for a year. Now suddenly this.

arous 370 motherboard
Samsung evo 960 drive

Windows 10

Please god help me

It’s buried under a cooler, CPU, and heatsink

And there’s no reason it should be unseated, it’s a desktop that has not moved .

Why would it spontaneously move ?

I started watching videos about taking it apart and I hate doing it, I’m always exhausted and I will probably destroy it.

Anything else I can try before that?

I tried changing bios settings no luck .

Sometimes you just need to freshen the connections between the pins and the pads on the card.

If you dont' have a sata drive installed then I guess it saying there isn't one is the correct result. the 960 is an NVME/PCI device and probably has it's own section in your bios, but if the bios was seeing it then it would probably boot from it.

So your monitor says check cable but lets you still see the bios? That is weird!

In the bios if I check The nvme there is nothing detected there

There is a windows boot in the boot order no drive nothing else to select for boot order

It goes directly to the bios on startup after a min now doesn’t even ask about cable connection

it was not the monitor saying check cable, its the computer trying to find a boot drive

after disabling some bios settings I don't think its looking for a SATA drive anymore
so its not even saying that anymore

I moved the ssd to the next slot, it still is not detected.

Any Ideas?

Anyone else had this drive fail?

How do I follow up on the warranty?

This is the Samsung evo 970 BTW not the 960.

Is there a guide to the bios settings that will make it read it?

I had windows installed and running for a year. I just never used this computer I was always at school.

I have used it for maybe 50 - 100 hrs tops in a year and a half.

Don't understand how this drive could fail.......
